Just wanted to give you a very short review of our trip:
First of all, we liked the cruise aspect of the trip even more than we thought we would. It made everything so much easier. And it was great to have more excursions to enjoy than there was time to enjoy them. And there was so much to do on the ship in the evenings, as you know, that we were never bored. Left us wanting more which is a good thing.
Hawaii was beautiful (I know I don't need to tell you that) and I think we chose a perfect time of the year to go. We did a variety of excursions and would highly recommend all but one of them. We thought the River cruise and fern grotto outing was pretty blah. But we loved the Kona Mocha tour (of course we had to do some kind of agricultural tour) and the Volcanoes Natl Park tour, as well. The whale watching excursion was OK, but honestly we probably saw as many whales from the ship, but Lainae (?), the old whaling town was a lot of fun. We also really like the luau...I got the VIP tickets that included eating at the Manor House. So much fun. Anytime you are met by someone handing you a Mai Tai and then just a little bit later handing you champagne what's not to like?!
We splurged and rented a convertible in Kauai and then again for our last day in Honolulu before flying home. Definitely worth the extra $. The weather was so good and it maximized our opportunities to enjoy it and soak up a little extra sunshine before flying back to the gray skies of Ohio.
I also really appreciated all your help and your service as travel agents. If you ever need a recommendation you can use my name.
